18 months of work, electrical power of 860 kWe, thermal power of 1218 kW, resulting in an annual saving of approximately 1,300 tons of CO2, equivalent to 525 fewer cars on the road and 299 more hectares of forest.

The project enables the self-production of 44% of the company’s current electricity needs and 13% of its thermal energy requirements. Additionally, the combined production of energy carriers through a cogeneration system, instead of separately purchasing electricity and gas, provides a 30–35% reduction in energy consumption.

The new infrastructure was designed and built in collaboration with RTS and Ecogenerazione, companies specializing in the design, installation, and management of renewable energy production plants through an ESCo contract model.

These are the key figures of the new trigeneration plant, part of an investment plan focused on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. The goal is to achieve energy self-sufficiency and greater competitiveness in a market where energy costs are becoming a crucial expense to monitor—for production, competitiveness, and the environment.

“Besides reducing emissions and producing green energy, we will be able to use 100% of the thermal energy internally for the production process, to power our water treatment and recovery system, and for heating the premises,” said President Olivo Foglieni during the commissioning of the plant. Another important step towards increasingly green production, in line with the strategy of the FECS industrial group.
